nbsp;Club Monaco, the premium lifestyle brand owned by Polo Ralph Lauren is gearing up for rapid expansion across Europe with 100 new store openings planned in the next three to five years. Club Monaco is known as a mid-priced casual retailer with menrsquo;s and womenrsquo;s offerings.
The brand was founded by Canadians Joe Mimran and Alfred Sung in 1985 and remained a Canadian company until 1999 when Polo Ralph Lauren acquired the chain. They alternate from offering casual styles in the spring/summer and more formal, muted pieces for autumn/winter. This month they are celebrating new store openings in Paris, Zurich, Geneva and Stuttgart. In London they are already available at Browns, South Molton Street.
So what does Club Monaco have to offer for the new season? Well, in their own words lsquo;60s Sundry with 70s Sophisticationrsquo; – womenswear is inspired by the style of leading ladies Jane Asher and Jean Shrimpton. A modern bohemian vibe with a warm colour palette is evident throughout the collection. There are pencils skirts teamed with delicate blouses and culottes worn with a faux fur trim cropped jacket for an off-duty alternative.
Top picks include the Krisi Moto jacket, a soft biker style cover-up with faux fur collar, and the Nanette skirt, pleated in this seasonrsquo;s midi length. For men there is the lightweight knit blazer in grey or navy and the washed corduroy trousers in a range of autumnal shades. You canrsquo;t purchase online at the moment, so letrsquo;s hope they open more stores in the UK very soon.
